Christoffer Müller and Asbjørn Mosgaard Hyldgaard have been appointed partners at Axcel as of 31 March 2019. At the same time, current partners Nikolaj Vejlsgaard and Vilhelm Sundström will leave the company.
Christoffer Müller (36) has worked at Axcel since 2009 and is responsible for the investments in Frontmatec and Mountain Top Group, where he is deputy chairman of both companies. Additionally, Christoffer has worked with a number of other investments during his 10 years with Axcel and also sits on the board of directors of Axcelfuture.
Asbjørn Mosgaard Hyldgaard (37) has worked at Axcel since 2007 and is responsible for the investment in GUBI, where he is deputy chairman. Asbjørn has also worked with other Axcel investments, including the successful turnaround of Ball Group.
Concerning the appointments, Axcel’s Managing, Partner Christian Schmidt-Jacobsen, says:
“It’s a real pleasure to welcome Christoffer and Asbjørn to the partner group at Axcel. They’ve both been with us for many years and made vital contributions to the development of Axcel and our culture. They’ve both produced excellent results and shown an ability to identify the right investment opportunities, so now they’re ready to step up to the next level for the benefit of Axcel and our investors.”
In connection with the appointments of Christoffer and Asbjørn, it has also been agreed that Nikolaj Vejlsgaard and Vilhelm Sundström will stand down as partners at the end of March.
“I’d like to thank Vilhelm and Nikolaj for their efforts at Axcel over all these years,” says Christian Schmidt-Jacobsen. “Nikolaj was one of Axcel’s first employees, and throughout his time here he has made a vital contribution to establishing Axcel as one of Denmark’s leading private equity firms. One highlight was Nikolaj’s work with PANDORA, which helped make Axcel III one of the best ever funds in Europe. Vilhelm was the first employee in Sweden, and over the years he has worked to build up Axcel in the Swedish market, where the team has now realised nine investments and five exits. I’d especially like to mention Vilhelm’s work with Nordic Waterproofing and its listing, which brought a great return for the investors.
“I look forward to working with Asbjørn and Christoffer in Axcel’s partner group, and at the same time wish Nikolaj and Vilhelm all the very best for the future,” Christian Schmidt-Jacobsen continues. “Axcel has now completed its generational change, which began with my appointment as Managing Partner in 2015. We now have a fantastic team that will deliver strong results through our investments.”
