Sarah Hempel joined Axcel in 2020 as Head of Sustainability.

Sarah is responsible for addressing ESG in Axcel’s operations and portfolio companies as well as communicating and engaging with stakeholders on sustainability topics.

Prior to joining Axcel Sarah served as the Head of Global Sustainability Strategy & Governance at Novozymes. Sarah has furthermore been employed at LEGO as Corporate Affairs manager and as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company.

Educational background

Sarah holds a MSc in International Business and Development Studies and a CEMS Master’s in Management from Copenhagen Business School. Sarah has also studied at HEC Paris.
